Stand Fast

Today I was alarmed by the almost unbelievable new report that the Air Force is seeking 700 new pilots. I feel so because if many of them left for conscience, their positions may be filled by others who don't share their values. Instead, perhaps qualified persons with such a conscience - particularly Bible believers - should run to fill them.

A while back, I was similarly alarmed when 17 conservative judges resigned in North Carolina when – to my mind, illegally – gay marriage won in the Supreme Court. . Should wickedness win upon the first shot of the battle? May it never be! If they had stood their ground perhaps they would have only suffered the fate of Kim Davis. Couldn't you tolerate ridicule, persecution, and unspoken respect for standing on principle?

Then too remember that every righteous person who leaves an appointed office will currently be succeeded by a wicked nominee appointed by such as Obama. Consider that Barbara Satin (satan?) – a transvestite – now gives Barack Obama religious advice. Consider also that if every good person left their post, only the wicked would be left in charge. Therefore everyone should persevere in the place they find themselves if morally and otherwise possible.

Many in these positions may be subject to treachery in which they may not know who to trust. They will require prayer support

Perhaps you ask where is God? and think that the battle is too big for you. But it is not so. Because...

For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. (2 Chronicles 16:9 NAS)

If instead for the sake of comfort and ease you withdraw from your post, you will miss seeing God's hand in your help. Perhaps also if your cause draws enough help from God, you would in some measure see miracles as did Daniel and the three Hebrew children. I am persuaded that ultimately Christianity cannot lose. If we win outright, we have the world. If we lose the world, heaven awaits. Either way God is with us. In the meantime we must persevere.
