Rationalization
poses
to
harm
society
Long ago I read in Scientific American that certain scientists
advocated introducing large jungle animals to the American ecosystem
because ours needed but lacked them. I really don't how I would
respond to a lion in my backyard or rhino on the side of the
road. Since then there have been innumerable odd ideas. Do
you know that farting cows are implicated in climate change? I
don't know what they think of the sheep, goats, and other
ruminants. If they could rid themselves of domestic ruminants how
do they overlook that wild ruminants have been farting for at least
thousands of years. A former Google CEO event spent considerable
money to research whether hamburger patties could be made in a lab in
order the bypass the feared bovine. Gas cans are also made
inoperable by locking nozzles and removed vents. Some – thinking
that concrete is a non-green resource – propose wooden skyscrapers
(seriously!). They apparently did not watch people jump to their
deaths from towering hotel fire long ago or remember September 11,
2001. Other pundits assert that soon we will all ride autonomous
cars
which we cannot drive because of omitted steering wheels, which however
with the inevitable technology backdoors will be driven by hackers and
the NSA instead. Others assert that because man is destroying the
earth,
that humankind should end by self-genocide. That they should no
longer have children at all and thus leave the world to the animals.
You might pass this off as the eccentricity of some, however this kind
of thinking is posed to cause harm to society. Imposing gender
confusion by law is recognized by many logical people for its
danger. Consider also that carbon is acquitted of guilt regarding
the weather by exculpatory evidence. An approximately one Celsius
degree rise (much less than yearly fluctuations) is blamed for weather
anomalies causing much harm. However this rise is reckoned to
have begun about 1800 with carbon emissions having added its part
beginning 1955. A little logic here. If the temperature
rise in question operated for three-quarters of that period apart from
carbon emissions, how can carbon be guilty. Some other cause must
be sought. Instead the name has been changed from "Global
Warming" to "Climate Change" because of the logical anomaly while the
scapegoating of carbon continues. Then the pursuit of this
illusion poses great cost in its implementation and in the economic
harm posed by some faulty energy policy that results.
For a natural explanation to such illogical thinking, I propose that a
large part of the population – especially involving the liberal elite –
have rationalized immoral policies and ideas unsupportable by logic
until they have blunted their ability to think clearly. To deny
that abortion is murder or to assert that one's birth gender is a lie
requires a high level of self-deception. Then when self-deception
is practiced scrupulously for decades of one's life, the ability to
think logically then would elude them when needed. Then they
declare themselves smarter and more qualified to rule than those who
lack such a mental handicap. Perhaps we should head the warning
of Jesus:
They be blind leaders of the
blind. And
if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the
ditch. (Matthew 15:14)
Spiritually God has them as is it written
He taketh the wise in their own
craftiness (Job 5:13, 1Cor 3:19)
For the invisible things of him
from
the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the
things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they
are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they
glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and
their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they
became fools. ... For this cause God gave them up
unto vile
affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that
which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the
natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men
with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves
that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they
did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those
things which are not convenient. (Romans 1:20-22,26-28)
